Business Consulting

The Ioppolo Law Group is more than just a law firm. Our business experience doesn’t come from books or the success or failure of other people’s decisions; decisions where we had no skin in the game. Rather, we’ve held both executive level business positions within public and private companies, as well as business responsibilities within law firms. The result is a unique mix of business and legal experience that clients would be hard pressed to find at most “traditional” or “large” law firms.

Frank Ioppolo, Jr. had previously been a shareholder at one of the largest law firms in the world before leaving to serve as the Chief Operating Officer & General Counsel of one of the premiere performance marketing companies in the country. MarketLeverage Interactive Advertising, Inc. was recognized two years in a row as one of the fastest growing companies in the country by Inc. magazine. While at MarketLeverage, Ioppolo received the 2008 Business Leader of the Year Award from the Seminole County Regional Chamber of Commerce and the 2010 Success Award for Business Achievement. He has been recognized by his peers in the legal community and voted for inclusion in Best Lawyers in America, Florida Super Lawyers and Florida Trend’s Legal Elite for several years. His contributions to the Central Florida community led the Orlando Business Journal to recognize Mr. Ioppolo as one of the Most Influential Men in Central Florida on four separate occasions.

Joining ILG’s team to provide non-legal, business consulting advice is Frank Ioppolo, Sr.**, former Executive Vice President of Business Affairs and General Counsel for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. He sat on the Steering and Executive Committees, served as the Walt Disney Company’s chief real estate negotiator and was responsible for the legal and environmental departments. Ioppolo, Sr. took the lead on projects that included construction contracting for Paris Disneyland, the Anaheim and Long Beach Disneyland negotiations to expand Disneyland, the Shades of Green hotel development with the U.S. Army, the redevelopment of Times Square and the New Amsterdam Theatre in New York City, the creation of the Disney Cruise Line including negotiation for the construction of two cruise ships for nearly $1 billion, acquisition and development of an island in the Bahamas and negotiation with foreign governments for finance and tax incentives to establish the Disney Cruise Line, and the creation of the Disney Vacation Club, a timeshare/vacation ownership business.

Known nationally as a business leader, he served on the White House Commission on Tourism (1995-1996), the Orlando Mayor’s 1997 Economic Development Mission to the Russian Federation, the Boards of the Florida Chamber of Commerce and Leadership Florida (where he is a past Chair), Junior Achievement, and the Orlando Museum of Art. He is also the recipient of important community service awards such as the Secretary of the Army Medal for Excellence and Service to the Nation (August 2001 in connection with establishment of the Armed Services Recreation facilities at Walt Disney World), the Columbus Citizens Foundation Award for Outstanding Business Achievement presented at the 1999 Columbus Day Parade in New York City, and the Leadership Florida Distinguished Alumnus Award (1996).

ILG’s experience encompasses strategic and business planning, evaluation and sourcing of financial sources and structures, operational matters, sales, marketing, public relations, governmental relations, compensation, employee development and retention, integration of acquired assets and businesses, regulatory compliance from the business and legal side, internal investigations, advising boards of directors and special committees, managing software development and IT departments, telecommunications, leasing and real estate development, site selection, managing social media and creative functions, client service, budgeting, expansion and reduction of work force, protection of intellectual property, the use of confidentiality and non-compete agreements and outsourcing.
